2011 Summer Social League Epsom Girls Aqatic

RULES AND INFORMATION: START DATE SEPTEMBER 18th

Payment:

$600 is to be paid to the Water Polo Institute Ltd, PO Box 446, Drury 2247, by all teams prior to Sunday the 2nd of October, otherwise the manager of the team will be charged $200 and the team will be withdrawn from all further competition. For Division one teams that are unable to provide a referee there entry fee will be $700. All managers are responsible for payment. All entries are to be received by the 9th of September.

Referees:

ALL Division One teams MUST provide a second referee or pay the $700 entry fee, if your referee does not show you will be deducted 2 points per failure to provide a referee. I understand that many Division 2 teams do not have a graded ref in their side but those more experienced players are to take this opportunity to further their understanding of the game and the difficulties faced by referees. Rule books can be purchased through waterpolo.org.nz, and go into the referees file. I believe you can down load the rules from fina.org.

Game length:

All games are five minutes running time for four quarters. All teams are to be ready by the scheduled time and must obey the wishes of the head referee.

Rules of the competition:

If a team has less than six players on the night they must default the game, but may still have a practice scrimmage with their opponents. All teams must have at least two females in the water at all times. If you cannot do this I suggest that you play with only 5 males and 1 girl. Failure to do so will mean immediate default. All teams are allowed up to two National players in their side and three 2010/2011 NZWPA registered players. Managers are to provide current registration numbers. A national player is one that has represented there country at Secondary Schools level or higher in the past 3 years. If you feel that any of the above rules were breached please advise the referee immediately, even if the game is being played at the time of realization. No other protests will be looked into.

Points system:

A win is worth 4 points, a draw worth 2, and a loss by three or less goals 1 point. A default will mean the loss of one point. Division 1 teams failing to provide a scheduled referee will automatically have 2 points deducted.

Competition Format:

Division 1 will be a double round robin followed by semi-finals and a grand final. Division 2 will be a full round robin followed by semi-finals and a grand final.
