About Us
The Water Polo Institute was established in 2001 by Kurt Goldsworthy and Chris Hayward of New Zealand's largest club, Marist Auckland Water Polo, to provide coaching services to schools in the club's area. The business has been growing since and today provides a wider range of services. The Water Polo Institute employs two full time staff and numerous part time contractors.
All Water Polo Institute staff are experienced and qualified water polo coaches who have represented New Zealand at different age levels as either players and / or coaches.
- Kurt Goldsworthy is the Head coach of the Water Polo Institute Ltd. Kurt has been the Head Coach of the New Zealand National Mens team since 2009. He was the NZ Junior Mens coach from 2002-2009, NZ Schoolboys coach from 2000-2002. Kurt received a Prime ministers scholarship for coaching water polo in 2005. As a player he was in the NZ National Mens squad from 1988 until he retired in 2000. He played in in eight consecutive National finals winning on four occassions. He has coached numerous sides to National titles in both male and female competitions at various levels.
- Olaf Adam
- Jonathan Ware is the current Junior Mens and the NZ Schoolboys coach. He has international success as a coach at this level winning the Tri nations trophy in 2010. John received a Prime ministers scholarship for coaching water polo in 2008. He has excelled as an Internatioanl player in a career that is still ongoing.
