The Water Polo Institute Limited, based at Sacred Heart College Aquatic Centre, Epsom Girls Grammar Aquatic Centre and now at the Diocesan Aquatic Centre, provides a wide range of services around water polo in the Central and Eastern Auckland area.

2011 Summer Social League Finals on December 11th
The finalists in Division 1 and 2 have been found. Division 1 will see the undefeated Mob take on the Icebergs. This is both teams 11th year in the competition. The final of Division 2 will see Rubber Duckies take on Gumby Penguins. The summer competition commenced on September 18th and has been played on Sundays at Epsom Girls Grammar Aquatic Centre. The summer Social League 2011attracted six Division 1 teams and 10 Division 2 teams. The competition concludes on December 11th. The 2012 Autumn season is likely to commence in late April. 2011 WPI Regional Training Squad
The WPI coaching staff have just concluded it's second Regional training Squad programme. There were 27 male athletes enrolled including 21 current national squad members. NZ Mens squad members train alongside the top youth boys in the Auckland region. The programme was initiated on August the 5th 2010. The programme is headed by current New Zealand mens Head coach, Kurt Goldsworthy who is assisted by the NZ Junior mens head coach, John Ware. For further information Contact
2011 Waterpolo Instituite Champions found
The WPI Cup Division 1 Champions are Sacred Heart Sharks, who beat the Central League the Division 1 Champions, Kings School, on Friday November 18th at SHC. The WPI Cup Division 2 Champions are Marist College who defeated the Eastern Division 2 champions, Kohi/St Heliers, 8-6 last Friday at EGGS. Congratulations to all teams that competed this year. The Water Polo Institute Cup competition put the equivalent ranked teams from the Central League up aginst the Eastern League. In 2011 there were 20 teams from 11 schools entered in the Eastern League which ran out of the Sacred Heart College Aquatic Centre and 19 teams from nine schools entered in the Central League that played at the Epsom Girls Grammar Aquatic Centre. 2011 October Holiday Programme
This programme was a great success. Apologies to those that missed out ,places were filled in 5 days of the registrations being sent out. 72 athletes from year 6 to 10 attended the Water Polo Institute Ltd run holiday programme at Sacred Heart College.The programme was headed by current NZ Mens centreforward Dan Jackson. The coaching staff of the programme would like to thank all participants for the efforts put in and congratulate you all on the skills and knowledge that you acquired over the three days. 2011 Coaching Course
In early May the Water Polo Institute Ltd ran an Introductory Coaching Course. This was the first time since 2007 that we have been able to offer this course. The objective of these courses are to develop more water polo coaches and to get more people involved in the sport. They are targeted at water polo players, coaches, managers and interested parties who are relatively new to coaching and/or the game. The next course is likely to be held in late term 4.
